Enemy Infestation

To enter the in-game cheat mode at any time, type any code as you play (it won't work if the game is paused).

Then hit Enter. If it doesn't seem to work, try them again. Type them carefully when you have colonists selected:

Pressing certain letters can cause a selected colonist to initiate a behavior trait (for example, pressing [F] gives the Flee command).

Codes Result

gsaheal - Heals all colonists (not terminated)

back to full health.

gsaroof - Removes all roofs (takes awhile) so

you can see into rooms.

gsaswap - Swaps sides (allows you to control aliens);

use following the kill cheat to eliminate

selected aliens.

gsakill - Kills selected characters (your own, or swaps,

selects, and kills aliens).

gsastop - Stops both aliens and colonists from acting,

causing them to just stand around; type it again

to toggle it off.

gsabog - Creates a BOG weapon at the cursor that when you

pick it up gives you extra defense and lets you

lock doors.

gsaknife - Creates a KNIFE weapon at the cursor that when

you pick it up makes you invisible to aliens (they

won't go for you when they would normally see you).

gsacmdr - Creates a commander at the cursor.

gsamedi - Creates a medical officer at the cursor.

gsaboff - Creates a technician (boffin) at the cursor.

gsawin - Wins the level no matter what (so you can continue

to the next).

* Tips

- One of the most difficult missions is The Swarm.

Here's the key to solving it:

rescue Bonnie (the electronics expert), get her healed, and lock the airlock door.

- Keep an eye on your colonists' reactions, especially if you change them.

Having a scientist set to "fight" instead of "hide" is a quick way to lose a mission.

- Save the level as soon as you begin; and if the Big Orange Gun or the Ray Gun have been given an unfavorable effect--either "grow" or "multiply"--restart the level from the main menu.

Excessive Speed

Tip: In FIFA, the program rewards goals and opportunities to the player who puts on the most pressure. Ball possession, time spent in the offensive zone, and a large number of shots on goal (no matter how weak they may be) all contribute to the ease with which program-controlled defenses break down and shots find the back of the net.

Tip: Resist the urge to wildly switch players when under pressure in your own zone. Instead, maintain control of one player and press button 3 (the "gentle" tackle button) in rapid fashion. Because the program itself moves players to mark the ball carrier, any player who comes in contact with the ball will be ready to steal it.

Tip: One of the best ways to move a ball around a tight defense is the button 1 lob pass, simply because nobody can steal it when it's in mid-air. Also, your intended recipient will almost always have more time, and experience less defensive pressure, when moving into position for a slow aerial ball than for a streaking ground ball.

Tip: Once you're reasonably competent, set the referee strictness to Maximum. AI-controlled teams are usually quite aggressive, as are most new human players.

Tip: If you're sprinting into the box with a defender nipping at your toes from behind, don't shoot. Instead, let him drag you down--he almost always will--and you'll reap the benefits of a penalty kick. Your chances of scoring from the spot are infinitely better than when you're hurtling in with defenders all around.
